Museum of the Future: inside Dubai’s silver ring

The Museum of the Future is the building everyone photographs from the metro window: a silver ring covered in Arabic calligraphy, hovering above Sheikh Zayed Road. Step inside and you board a simulated space station set in the year 2071, wander through a digital rainforest of DNA, and end up in a meditation space that feels miles away from the traffic below. Since opening in 2022 it has become one of the hardest tickets to get in Dubai, and in the busy winter months it regularly sells out days ahead.

What to expect inside

The museum is not a museum in the classic sense. There are no display cases with old objects. Instead you move through five story chapters spread over seven floors, starting with a rocket lift ride to the OSS Hope space station. The Heal Institute floor, with its glowing archive of 2,400 species, is the part most visitors talk about afterwards. Plan around two hours; the experience is designed top-down, so you take the lift up and walk back to earth at your own pace.

Winter tip

Combine your visit with the view from the Burj Khalifa on the same day: both are on the red metro line, one stop apart. In December and January the late afternoon light on the museum’s facade is ideal for photos from the Emirates Towers metro bridge.

Opening hours and prices

Open daily from 9:30 to 21:00, last entry at 20:00. A standard adult ticket costs around AED 169 (checked July 2026); children under four go free. The timed-entry system is strict, so book your slot in advance – especially between November and February.

How to get there

Good to know

How long does a visit take?

Most visitors spend 1.5 to 2.5 hours inside. The space station chapter alone takes about 30 minutes.

Is it suitable for children?

Yes. Level 1 is a dedicated children’s floor (Future Heroes) for kids up to 10. Strollers can be parked at the entrance.

Do tickets sell out?

In winter, yes – often several days ahead for weekend slots. Weekday mornings are your best bet for last-minute availability.
