Waterparks are the one Dubai attraction that gets better in winter. From November to March the pools are heated, the sun is warm instead of punishing, and a morning on the slides still leaves the afternoon for the city. This is our ranking of the six waterparks in and around Dubai for the 2026/27 season – updated for the new Grand Hyatt park, the return of Legoland Water Park on 7 October and the temporary closure of Wild Wadi.

1. Aquaventure Waterpark at Atlantis The Palm
The biggest waterpark in the world by number of rides and the one to choose if you have a whole day: more than 105 slides and attractions across three towers, the near-vertical Leap of Faith and Poseidon’s Revenge drops, the Aquaconda – the largest waterslide in the world – a two-kilometre river with rapids, a private beach and the Shark Lagoon, where the slide ends in a clear tunnel through the sharks. Trident Tower, the newest section, has twelve more rides including the Shockwave family raft.
Winter is the time: the lines are shorter than in summer, the water is heated, and the beach in front of Atlantis is at its best at 25°C. Tickets are cheaper online than at the gate, and Tiqets lets you cancel free until the day before. Our full guide: Aquaventure Waterpark Dubai.
2. Grand Hyatt Dubai Waterpark – new
Dubai’s newest waterpark opened to the public in late 2025 in the gardens of the Grand Hyatt on Dubai Creek: 16 rides on 20,000 square metres, a wave pool with a real sand beach, a lazy river, the region’s first triple FlowRider surf simulator and two children’s zones. It is smaller and calmer than Aquaventure – a half-day park for families with young children, fifteen minutes from Downtown. Day pass AED 375, children under 107 cm AED 305, hotel guests included. 3. Legoland Water Park – reopens 7 October 2026
Part of Dubai Parks and Resorts in Jebel Ali, and the only waterpark in the region built for children aged two to twelve: twenty slides and attractions scaled for small people, a Build-A-Raft river where kids assemble their own Lego raft, a wave pool, the Joker Soaker splash structure and the Duplo toddler zone. The whole resort – Legoland, the water park, Motiongate and Real Madrid World – was closed over the summer and reopens on 7 October 2026 for the winter season, with a new bowling and racing-simulator zone at Riverland. Combine with Legoland next door on a two-park pass; the day pass below includes a private transfer from your hotel.
4. Jungle Bay Waterpark, Le Méridien Mina Seyahi
A small, Greek-island-styled waterpark on the beach between Dubai Marina and the Palm, with twisting slides, a family wave pool and cabanas – built for children under ten rather than thrill seekers. Day passes start around AED 100 and include the resort beach and pools, which makes it the cheapest beach-and-slides day in the city. Open daily; check the Mina Seyahi website for winter hours.
5. AquaFun, JBR beach
Not a waterpark in the classic sense but the largest inflatable water park in the world: an obstacle course of slides, climbing walls and trampolines floating on the sea off JBR, shaped as the words “Dubai” and “Aquafun” when seen from above. Sessions of about an hour, from roughly AED 100; you need to be able to swim and it is a workout. The park operates seasonally, typically from autumn to spring, and closes on windy days – check the day before.
6. Wild Wadi Waterpark – temporarily closed
The classic next to the Burj Al Arab, with the Jumeirah Sceirah free-fall slide and the Master Blaster uphill water coasters, is temporarily closed until further notice; no reopening date has been announced. We keep our Wild Wadi page online and will update it the moment Jumeirah announces a return. For now, Aquaventure is the closest match in scale and Grand Hyatt the closest in atmosphere.
Winter tips for the waterparks
Go on a weekday morning: gates open at 10:00 and the first two hours are the quietest. The water is heated everywhere, but December and January evenings drop to 15°C, so plan to leave by 16:00 or bring a sweater for afterwards. Sunscreen is still non-negotiable at 24°C. Book online – every park is cheaper online than at the gate, and Tiqets adds free cancellation, which matters when a rare winter shower is forecast.
