Skiing in the desert sounds like a gimmick until you are standing at the top of an 85-metre indoor mountain in a snowstorm at -4°C, while it is 26°C and sunny outside. Ski Dubai, inside Mall of the Emirates, has been Dubai’s strangest and most loved attraction for two decades: 22,500 square metres of real snow, five runs, a chairlift and a Snow Park the size of three football pitches. It is open all year round, but between November and March it becomes the winter-inside-winter experience this site is named after. Below we compare every Ski Dubai ticket, explain what is included and let you book at today’s price.

Snow Park: Snow Fun or Snow Plus?
The Snow Park is the family favourite and needs no skiing ability at all. You get a thermal jacket, trousers, boots and socks at the entrance, then walk into a hall kept at -4°C with a bobsled run, a giant ball ride, snow bumper cars and a tubing run. Snow Fun (AED 265) covers a full day on all of that, with one chairlift ride up the mountain and one go on the Mountain Thriller, the toboggan-style ride down the slope.
Snow Plus (AED 325) is the upgrade for anyone who plans to stay half a day: unlimited chairlift and Mountain Thriller rides, the snow cavern and tobogganing, a locker, a hot chocolate, and a choice between two rides on the Snow Bullet – a zipline across the snow hall, for guests over 8, taller than 120 cm and heavier than 30 kg – or two hours on the ski slope for skiers of intermediate level. Our rule of thumb: with children under 8, Snow Fun is plenty; with teenagers who will queue for the Thriller five times, Snow Plus pays for itself within an hour. The penguin encounter is a separate experience booked directly with Ski Dubai.
Skiing and snowboarding: the slope passes
Ski Dubai’s slope is a real one: five runs, the longest 400 metres, a 60-metre vertical drop, a black-graded section, a freestyle zone and a quad chairlift that takes four minutes to the top. A slope pass is for people who can already ski or snowboard and use a lift. Complete beginners should book a lesson at Ski Dubai’s ski school instead – lessons are not sold through Tiqets. For most visitors the 2-hour pass (AED 250) is enough; the cold and the short runs make two hours feel like a morning in the Alps. The full-day pass (AED 350) is for those who fly in for the novelty and want to lap the black run until they drop.
Both passes include jacket, trousers, boots, skis or snowboard, helmet, poles and a locker; the full-day pass adds fleece gloves. Children aged 3 to 8 (under 120 cm) have their own child ticket at the same price, bookable only together with an adult pass. Under-18s need a waiver signed by a parent or guardian, and helmets are compulsory under 13.
Age and height rules
Children under 2 are not admitted anywhere in Ski Dubai. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult of 16 or older, and guests aged 2 to 14 may be asked for proof of age at the admission desk. Helmets are mandatory under 13. For the Snow Bullet zipline you need to be over 8, at least 120 cm and 30 kg, and under 120 kg; it is not open to pregnant guests or anyone with back or blood-pressure conditions. On the slope, children aged 3 to 8 ski under adult supervision, 9 to 14-year-olds may ski alone as long as a parent stays inside Mall of the Emirates.
Why November to March is the moment
Ski Dubai works in August too, but between November and March you can build a snowman in the morning and swim in the sea in the afternoon – the joke that never gets old. It is also when Ski Dubai puts on Winter Wonderland at Ski Dubai: Santa’s grotto on the snow, a forest of Christmas trees and breakfast with Santa, expected again in December 2026. Winter Wonderland has its own ticket sold by Ski Dubai; a Snow Park pass is the easiest way to make a full snow day of it. Weekends and school holidays are busy – book a weekday morning slot if you can.
Opening hours and how to get there
Ski Dubai opens daily at 10:00. Tiqets lists closing at 22:00; Ski Dubai extends to midnight at weekends and during the festive season, so pick your date in the calendar above to see the available slots. The entrance is inside Mall of the Emirates on Sheikh Zayed Road – see our guide to the mall for what else is there. Take the red metro line to Mall of the Emirates station, which connects to the mall by a covered walkway. Parking is free at weekends and public holidays, and validated for four hours on weekdays. You can watch the slope for free from the mall windows and the après-ski café.
Sleep next to the snow
Several hotels literally overlook the ski slope. The Kempinski Mall of the Emirates has ski chalet rooms with windows onto the snow, the Sheraton Mall of the Emirates is connected to the mall, and our Al Barsha hotel picks list cheaper options within walking distance.
Good to know
Normal clothes; the thermal jacket, trousers and boots go over them. Socks are provided, but bring thin gloves and a hat – the Snow Fun and 2-hour slope tickets do not include them and they are pricier inside the mall.
Not outdoors – Dubai has never recorded natural snowfall. Ski Dubai makes about 30 tonnes of fresh snow every night with snow guns, on top of a permanent base kept at -4°C.
The snow hall is kept at -4°C during the day and drops to around -6°C at night when fresh snow is made. With the provided clothing most people are comfortable for two to three hours.
Yes, but not on a slope pass. Beginners book a Discovery lesson at Ski Dubai’s ski school; after that you can buy a slope pass. Snow Plus includes two hours on the slope for intermediate skiers.
No. Winter Wonderland at Ski Dubai – Santa, the Christmas tree forest and breakfast with Santa, expected in December 2026 – has its own ticket sold by Ski Dubai. Snow Park and slope passes are valid on the same days.
Tickets booked through Tiqets can be cancelled free of charge until 23:59 on the day before your visit.
Two to three hours is typical before the cold wins. Snow Plus visitors who add the slope or the Snow Bullet often stay four hours.
If nobody in your group skis, or you have children under 8, book Snow Fun. If you ski at intermediate level and want the mountain rather than the rides, book a 2-hour slope pass. Snow Plus is the compromise for mixed groups.
